Prague, Czechia — If there’s one thing Filipinos are known for, it’s knowing how to throw a party, and Pinoy Fest 5 proved exactly that. Hosted by Ms. Darline Fae Rubi at P.M. Club in Nové Město, the Czech-Filipino Summer Party was filled with non-stop music, dancing, and a joyful celebration of being Filipino.
The program opened with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, followed by a lively performance of Tiklos by Groove N’ Squad. The dance squad surprised the audience by including Czech dancers in the traditional Filipino folk dance. The group also performed a hiphop routine and held a short hiphop workshop, teaching easy steps that participants could follow. According to troupe leader Mr. Joey ‘Jaybrix’ Santiago, “The Groove N’ Squad Czech dancers were truly amazed and delighted by performing Tiklos. They felt joy and connection as they embraced the rhythm and teamwork of our traditional dance. It was exciting and enriching for them to experience Filipino heritage through movement.”
The Big Kiss Band took the stage next, serenading the crowd with a mix of timeless Original Pinoy Music (OPM) favorites and classic foreign rock hits. Their set stirred nostalgia and gave the audience a warm sense of home, even miles away from the Philippines.
The celebration continued with the Heart of Music Band, who energized the venue with a set blending Filipino rock anthems and foreign rock classics. People quickly filled the dance floor, singing and moving to the beat, turning the night into a true rock celebration.
Bryan Gandola and his band followed, performing in superstar mode with an upbeat setlist that sent the crowd wild. Mid-performance, he invited two members of the Heart of Music Band to sing with him, drawing loud cheers and creating a memorable show of support and unity among the artists.
The night closed with the Czech metal band From Insight, who lit up the stage with a powerful set that had the crowd roaring along to their songs. Martin Fiala, the band’s representative said that
Beyond music and dance, the program featured fun games and a Tambola raffle, with winners taking home spa and wellness vouchers as well as cash prizes. Filipino food was also served at the event courtesy of Chef Dario, who prepared Lumpiang Shanghai, Sisig, and Tokwa’t Baboy—classic Filipino party favorites.
Even after the performances, the party carried on with the disco beats of DJ Johny. The dance floor remained alive as friends, family, co-workers, and fellow Filipinos shared laughter, posed for photos, and raised their glasses. Pinoy Fest 5 was a vibrant reminder that the event is not just about music but about togetherness and community.
The founders of Pinoy Care, Eden and Ondrej Pohan, extended their heartfelt thanks to the organizers and attendees. “Can we believe it has already been 5 years?
